Verb is a word which shows action and state of being ...
Thus verb shows two things
1...Action.....and ...2...state of being ..
The verb which shows action is called as DYNAMIC VERB , whileas the verb which doesn't show action ( shows state i,e...what a person is ) is called as STATIVE verb ...
Dynamic verbs change their form like play,plays ,played ,
While as STATIVE verbs don't change their form (..e.g...is , was ,)
Sometimes the verb is incomplete
E.g ...she seems
Such a verb which is incomplete is called as incomplete predication..
well, it requires a word to get completed like happy...
She seems HAPPY..
The word "happy" completes above verb ...
The word which completes the verb is called as complement of the verb
*TYPES OF VERB*
She plays cricket .
Look at the above sentence , it has both subject and object..
The verb which passes from subject to object or simply which has both subject and object is called as
TRANSISTIVE VERB...
She Died ...
In this verb doesn't pass from subject to object...
Such a verb is called as intransitive verb....
Moreover, sometimes a verb may have two objects like.
Sahil plays chess and volley ball...
Such a verb is called as Di- TRANSISTIVE verb.
